No Baby-Sitter at the Larimer Fire!?

So, Pittsburgh Police have determined that there was no baby-sitter watching the 7 children (five of them perished) in the Larimer Fire.From the start the story seemed a little fishy. Ms. Mangham (one of the Mother’s) wasn’t sure what the baby-sitter’s name was or where she lived.Now when I first heard this I thought… WHAT!!??Then I considered maybe her mind wasn’t running on all cylinders considering the tragedy she was going thru.Then I read that the local bar owner remembers the two mother’s at his establishment that night. Then as more news stories came out and the police were asking for people’s help to identify this baby-sitter it started to sink in that she did not exist. Because nobody would have helped conceal the identity of someone who left 7 children alone!She lied to the police (in my opinion) How did I come to this conclusion?As a Father of two, I would know who was watching my children, I would know where this person lived, I would know whom this person associated with and I would have not slept until I tracked this person down if he/she had left my children alone!When police stated they going to wait until after the children’s funeral to take any further action… Red Flag!Then, I read that Jim Ecker was Ms. Mangham’s attorney. I know it’s wrong to assume, however, whoever I see next to Jim Ecker is usually guilty as hell. He tends to represent the under-belly of the Pittsburgh Region! Again, Just my opinion.I truly feel bad for what has happened to these families. I also, don’t know what charges you bring in this case and would jail time change the fact that these women lost their babies?It would be easy to lock them up and throw away the key. But do we know that if they were there anything would change? It was 12:30 – 1:00 in the morning. What’s to say they would not have been asleep and there would have been more victims?Were they negligent, yes. Did they plan for this to happen, No.There are a lot of “What If” scenario’s attached to this case.

Unfortunately, None of them will change the outcome.

Ban Metal Baseball Bat’s??!!

This helps the argument for smaller government!

Pennsylvania has a house bill to ban metal baseball bat’s for youth baseball and softball.

(To be fair Pennsylvania isn’t the only state looking at this issue, New York and it’s smelly cousin Jersey are also looking at this.)

The idea is understandable, pitchers could get hit by the ball.

In theory, a ball hit by a metal bat, is hit harder than one by a wood bat.

I’m sure that if you asked a pitcher which he preffered being hit by, a ball hit by a metal bat or wooden bat? I’m thinking he’ll answer… Neither!

Again, I understand the concern, however, shouldn’t this be an issue for the individual leagues?

Do we really need the government to get involved?

If we let them do this with the bat’s then what about their exposed face’s? I guess we’ll have to have a law to make them wear mask’s to protect the players face. Oh, but, sometimes when they slide into a base they get bruised… Well we’ll just have to create a law to make them wear pads. The next thing you know We’ve got some Friggin Frankenstein Monster of Baseball, Football and Hockey out there! Sit down and shut the @#%$ up!! How often are pitchers getting hit by the ball!!??

Aren’t there other more important things that our state government should be worried about?

If they need a few idea’s of what’s truly important, how about… Oh, I don’t know, Welfare, the price of gas, the fact that I can ride a motor-cycle with out a helmet but I get a ticket if I don’t use a seat-belt in a car! It might be nice if they cut wastefull spending and cutting taxes would be nice!

To be honest it pisses me off when government get’s involved with issues they have no business getting involved in!

I just don’t see why we’re paying these government officials to debate this when, if this was such an issue, the individual leagues would take care of it!

I’ll get off my soapbox now!

I’ve got a question.

Why is it okay for people to blow their nose in a restaurant?

Why can’t they excuse themselves and do this in the bathroom?

The sound of chunky snot shooting thru the nose into tissue or a napkin while I’m trying to enjoy a meal. It’s disgusting!!

And the poor waiter or waitress who has to clean the table and find this little surprise! (Thanks for the tip!!)

I look at it the same as whipping your ass!

To me, it’s shit no matter which end it’s coming out of!

Well, I’m new a this whole blogging thing.

So I welcome comments.

I’m going to start off with a pretty big subject, Welfare.

More specifically it’s reform.

The welfare system needs to be overhauled!!

How is it that someone on welfare can buy twinkies and orange pop (that’s soda in other part’s of the country)?

The idea behind welfare is to help those who need it. Not to become the bread winner of the house! There are too many people in society who abuse this helping hand.

You should be able to buy meat, bread, dairy and some cleaning supplies.

You should never be able to buy twinkies, orange pop, potato chips, or lucky charms!

If you want these items get a friggin’ job!

There should be a time limit on welfare too. And if you need an exstention on that time you should be able to prove your working towards getting off of welfare.

Here’s the problem… alot of the people on welfare are not working!

Why should they?

Once they’re on welfare the other flood gates open. Like Energy assistance. Welfare will even give these people money towards fixing their vehicle! Let me say this again… Thet will provide people with cash to fix their vehicle! If my vehicle breaks down and I don’t have the $$$ to fix it, I hoof it to work or borrow a family members car.

I DO NOT ASK THE GOVERNMENT TO FIX IT FOR ME!!!

I could go on further but I’ll climb down off my soapbox here!
